Education fund for missionary children
Focus on girls
Efi is Education Fund India, an education fund for missionary children with a focus on girls – without excluding boys. Many girls in India attend school very briefly or not at all. Boys generally have a better chance of getting an education. Focusing on girls, we are building a society where strong families can grow. A society in which girls and boys are given the opportunity to fully develop their gifts and talents with the cognitive knowledge they need.
I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.

Loving missionary children =
committing to education
A good education is important for the future of every child. Unfortunately, many Indian missionaries struggle with funding their child’s education. Efi provides an annual grant to make the financial threshold for these parents as low as possible. In this way we support the children of Indian missionaries who’re part of Youth with a Mission to receive appropriate education.
Efi aims to achieve three things
Relieve the financial burden that many parents experience to pay for their children’s education.
Strategically invest in the new generation of Christians that will be the salt and light of future India
Build strong influential Christian families where boys and girls have been given an equal opportunity to develop their talents and giftings through proper education
How does it work?
Parents can apply for an annual grant for the education of their child. This amount does not cover the full cost. We want to prevent parents from becoming fully dependent on Efi. Parents keep their responsibilities but do get a helping hand.

Scholarship
In addition to primary and secondary education, we grant a larger scholarship to a small number of students. Students can apply for this themselves. A recommendation is required.
Organize your own creative campaign to raise funds for Efi. Creative expression is key. Use your art, dance, singing, drama, creative media or whatever expression you like.
Impact South Asia
Efi is a fund within the Impact South Asia foundation (formerly India Adoption Plan). This foundation was established in 1995 and has many years of experience supporting native missionaries in South Asia. In recent years we have received a recurring request from parents for support for the education of their child(ren). The India Adoption Plan’s founder, Bart Doornweerd, wished to set up a fund dedicated for this purpose. After his death, we worked as a team to set up this fund.
Youth with a Mission
Efi’s network is Youth with a Mission (YWAM). YWAM is a global movement of Christians united in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.
Because all relationships are within this network, this is where we can be as sure as possible about the parents’ integrity and responsible spending of the annual grants.
